A Quiet Start.
Last month was an exceptionally quiet month, not only for us, but for every other removal company we have spoken too.
I think with it being just after Christmas and the uncertainty in mortgage rates etc played big parts in this.
February didn’t start off any better, but the last two weeks, thing haves started certainly started to pick up! A lot more phone calls and enquiries coming in, and March is looking like a great month for removals 😊
A New home!
WE HAVE A STORAGE UNIT AND INBUILT OFFICE!
If you have read any of news pages, you will see in January that I talked about goals we have for this year. We have achieved one of them all ready! A new home! 🏠
Although it’s been quiet, we haven’t just been sat twiddling our thumbs. We have been all hands-on deck arranging our new premises, ready to be able store all your worldly possessions.
We viewed the premises back in October, we applied but someone beat us to it. Fortunately for us they pulled out! We received a phone call in January asking if we were still interested, and we snapped their hands off! We have viewed many units previously, and we turned every one of them down as they didn’t live up to the standards we were after!
It was most definitely destined to be ours; the phone call came out of the blue, at the quietest time of the year, it didn’t look like work was going to pick up anytime soon, but we took the gamble and its looking like its paid off!
Struggles!
I have to admit, with the lack of work since the 16th December (the date of the last completions before Christmas!) to literally the 3rd week of February! It has been a struggle! Covering overheads with very few jobs coming in has been difficult, and a couple have times we have thought to ourselves, did we the right thing taking this on? BUT-It has paid off!
We are actively filling up our unit with storage crates and hope to be at full capacity by the end of the year! And it’s great to have a home for the vans, and a warm office we can hold briefings in, in the morning!
Next on the agenda.
The next step now is getting another van or two, which will enable to us to facilitate yet more moves, and create new jobs for a couple more drivers and porters!
We are going to get the ball rolling for our truck! You may have read a while ago, Both I (Jodie) and Craig passed our theory and CPC- we have still yet to take our test. Howard is also a HGV Driver. There is a lot to get in place before we can operate a truck- But hopefully before the year ends, we will have it all in place- so you will soon see a gigantic Tommy Turbo waving at you around town!
